Hello dear family and friends,
I am hanging by an angel thread and I just wrote an update on Hydeus and
lost it in computer land, so I will try again with the graces that flow
around me.
We look for a miracle, and ask you to continue to put it out there, but
meanwhile our dear daughter is having quite a difficult journey
It has been 18 months. She was admitted to the hospital last week with
breathing difficulty and will be released tomorrow to go home with us to
Salinas. Lee, who is an angel in her life, will go with us and Jenny, who
is here from New York( who is also an angel) will be with us, too. And, of
course, Heather, Rick. Cash and Kent are also angels in her life.
Hydeus has put up an amazing fight. She is now very very ill--liver
failing, kidneys failing, not eligible for any more research studies. We
feel she has had the very best of everything---medical care, research
studies, support systems, friends, school, a fabulous partner, family and
still her journey is not what we ordered.
She will travel by Angel Flights from LA to Monterey and then be admitted to
a hospice program.
The doctors say she has days to weeks to live. Without a miracle, we will
miss her unbelievably. We are all trying to stay in the present and have
her be with us as long as possible.
She is loved by everyone. Her collegues, professors, students and friends
are giving a benefit concert at University of Southern California on Friday
November 3. I am attaching a link that was set up by Lee that will give you
details and many many pictures of this dear child. I do not know if any of
us will be able to attend, but encourage all of you to go---it is going to
be awesome.Click on the following site to access the information.

Anyone is welcome to come by our home--Maybe, best to call first
831-484-9657. We probably can find lodging for anyone coming from out of
town.
Much love,
Shirley and Tom and Kiatta Girls and their partners.

Dear Hydeus and the Kiatta family,
I want you to know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I have so many wonderful memories of growing up with you and Heather! I still remember the very first day we met. You and Heather were sitting on your lawn, I was on mine. We sat there staring at each other for a while and then you yelled across the street, "What's your name?" "Sheila" "Peela" "No, Sheila" "Meela" "No, Sheila" "Cheela" "No, Sheila" "OH, Sheila" From then on it was days of rollerskating, playing Charlie's Angels, putting on plays for the neighborhood, sleepovers, drying your parent's VW Bug after they washed it, bike riding, playing "Light as a feather, stiff as a board" in you parents closet, birthday parites, and so on. I remember many laughs with you and Heather. Jenny too! I will always cherish my childhood memories with the Kiatta's! I am sorry that you and your family are going through this. I really like the pictures of you, you still have that great smile you had as a girl! I send my love to all of you. Sheila Re: An Update on Hydeus From Her Mother

Dear Kiatta Family and Lee,
I was just thinking back to the younger years when our family lived in Salinas and we all played together. (The Olsons, The Strongs, The Kiatta's and the Madrigal's) We were the four families, all so close, and how we enjoyed our families get togethers. When we were young, Heidi always wanted us all to dress up and put on talent shows. She definately knew what she wanted to do in life, even back then. I am so incredibly sad to hear of the prognosis on Hydeus. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you. She is such a wonderful spirit and will always have a special place in our hearts. We love you all and are here for you. Please send her our hugs and prayers. It was such a special time to see all of you in Baja at my brothers Anthony's wedding a couple years ago. That is how I always remember Hydeus: laughing, dancing, and performing with her beautiful voice. Sending our love. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU! Teresa Madrigal Trackbacks
